Economic Development

The mission of the Economic Development Committee is to empower Mozambique local nationals to create sustainable business opportunities. Businesses must be 100% owned by Mozambique nationals and must provide a detailed business plan for consideration. MDM provides interest-free loans to qualified business interests and mentorship to help increase the success rate of these new organizations. MDM will use repaid loans to fund future business ventures in Mozambique.

Education

The primary function of the Education Committee is to work with selected, knowledgeable individuals in the community and the school systems of Chicuque, Maxixe, and Inhambane. It is also to identify what is needed to elevate the level of education completed for more school aged children, and to improve the quality of instruction, facilities, and equipment in the school systems. This committee hopes to assist individuals with essential skills to pursue vocational/technical training for preparation to enter the market place; and to assist eligible individuals to pursue a college education. Among the most likely forms of assistance will be: financial support for scholarships at the secondary, high school, vocational training, and college levels; financial assistance for teacher training, equipment, supplies, and so on; offering both local and distance learning educational support classes/seminars/workshops in a variety of subject areas.

Health

The primary function of the MDM Health Committee is to work closely The Chicuque Rural Hospital (CRH) and the Center of Hope (CoH) identifying needs to improve the health and quality of life of all Mozambiqicans served by these institutions.
